Story

I will be running all my events this year hoping to raise some money for Hayley. If a date and mad event reminds you of me running and you can spare a few bob then please help us raise some money for the hospice in memory of Hayley. Thank you

Updates

Lakeland 100 completed and thank you all xx

11th October 2016
My apologies, i didn't update you all re my last challenge and for that I do apologise. Certainly was a tough event but I completed the event in just over 39hrs. It was a very tough challenge and my first 100 miler in one go with a ludicrous amount of mountains thrown in for good measure. As usual with this event the drop out rate was very high, some 40+% failing to complete the course or failing to meet the cut off times. I took a lot of strength from your support and thank you all for your kind donations and messages for this years events. Hayley was often on my thoughts during the events I have done and I have to say it really helped me in some tough ascents and descents when tiredness and fatigue sapped at my strength. Thank you all again. It was a pleasure to do my bit and I'd like to think, from time to time, Hayley saw some of the views I saw with me. Love to all xx

Transvulcania Completed

13th May 2016
This is without doubt the hardest event I have done to date bar none. I was pretty ill from the off but managed to drag myself round the 46 mile leg masher in under 15Hrs. The heights were monstrous and the course was breath taking. It truly was an awesome race that made you realise just how special life is and how much we should treasure our moments on it. I took a great deal of strength from all who donated and again thought of hayleys fighting spirit when my body was struggling. 2 IV drips at the end of the event showed how hard it was. Thank you one and all for the support and donations to this great little lady and the people who supported her. 2 months till the next big one, 100 miles up and over the lake district in under 48 hours.

London marathon completed

24th April 2016
I have to say I took great strength from all the support and kind words of encouragement, I suffered as I expected I would from about mile 20 and the last 4 miles of cramp were painful but knowing the support you guys all gave I couldn't let you down or Hayley. A tidy 3hrs23. Thank you all for he kind messages of support and donations. So pleased I could do my bit. Now a couple weeks rest before 50+miles and a volcano!! Bring it on!!

Preparations for Virgin London Marathon

30th March 2016
Haven't been training since the Richmond Half as I picked up an unhealthy case of Bronchitis. This has set me back some way as I wanted to PB at London and get a good result at the La Palmas Transvulcania in May. Still, I am determined to get fit again and do my bit for Hayley and the fundraising. I can't think of a better role model than Hayley to inspire me to face adversity and push on. Thank you for all the donations made so far. I greatly appreciate the support as do the Makepeace family. xx

Richmond half marathon - training run

22nd February 2016
I have just completed the Richmond half marathon as part of my preparation for the london marathon. As I have to run past my house twice en route it was difficult not to just go in and make a cup of tea ;) Lovely morning out with like minded runners. Very very muddy. Thanks for following and many thanks for the donations.

C2C

25th January 2016
I completed the 45 mile jaunt from Wendover to Paddington in a tidy 6hours and 53mins. Placed me in the top 100 and beat my previous time by over an hour. Well, it helps when you don't swim through rivers :) ... Next event London Marathon with maybe a cheeky half before.
